Journal History

The Cambodian Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (CJHSS) was established in 2021 by the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, marking a pivotal development in Cambodia's academic landscape. The journal serves as a platform for disseminating research that addresses the complexities and challenges facing Cambodian society today. By focusing on the humanities and social sciences, CJHSS aims to foster a deeper understanding of cultural, social, and historical contexts, reflecting a growing recognition of the importance of scholarly communication in advancing knowledge and tackling contemporary issues.

CJHSS is driven by several key missions:

  1. Promote rigorous academic research that contributes to the understanding of humanities and social sciences.
  2. Strengthen the scientific community in Cambodia by encouraging collaboration among researchers, educators, and practitioners.
  3. Publish high-quality, peer-reviewed articles that highlight local scholarship while engaging with global discourses.
  4. Encourage interdisciplinary research to bridge gaps between various fields and promote a holistic approach to understanding societal dynamics.
Through these missions, CJHSS seeks to foster critical dialogues and enhance the academic discourse within the Cambodian context and beyond.
